Once upon a time, a young northern white pine began sprouting in a grove north of Virginia, MN. Before long, the young sapling was thriving and growing like a bad weed. Time flew by and before the pine knew what was happening all his friends in the tree grove were being cut down. Before long, 35-year-old white pine felt a sharp pain near its base and suddenly everything went black.
Some crazy dreams happened, it is difficult to explain what the pine went through but it was magical!
The next memory "Pine" had was riding on a conveyor belt toward a large circular piece of metal that made a loud WHINE. Sawdust flew everywhere and again Pine blacked out for an undisclosed amount of time.
The next memory that Pine had came from a wood shop where he once again heard loud noises and sawdust flying around the room. As much as he hated to admit it, the aroma in the room was pleasing. This time, Pine was numb to the machines, the cutting, and the grinding. Lucky for him, he felt no pain. He did not realize it at the time but he was being transformed into a mini-canoe that was destined for a wild ride down the mighty Red River of the North.
Pine felt a little weird after the machines stopped running, he was slim, sleek, and ready for the River Adventure! After his last adventure in the wood shop, Pine spent a long time sitting in the corner and eventually, he drifted into a long coma.
His next memory came in a bright room where he heard laughter, screaming, and giggling. Before long he was being colored, painted, and smelled like something fierce. Later that day, Pine smelled the fresh water and he could hear it coming around the bend of the river. There was more laughter and he could hear splashing ahead of him in the water. Before he knew it, he was flying through the air, and SPLASH, he hit the water, and his River Adventure had begun.
The sun cast a warm glow as Pine was pushed downstream by meandering water. The whispering river greeted him with a gentle embrace, its cool ripples caressing his hull. As he went around bend after bend the world around him transformed. The bridge that he was thrown off had completely faded into the background, and the only sounds were those of the Red River.
The river carried him through a variety of landscapes. At times, the banks were adorned with vibrant wildflowers, their colors dancing in the gentle breeze. Other times, the trees leaned in close, forming a natural canopy that dappled sunlight onto the water's surface. Pine marveled at the diversity of life around her Չ the graceful flight of birds, the playful splashes of fish, and the occasional rustle of small creatures scurrying along the shoreline. Pine felt a profound sense of connection Չ not just with the river, but with the world itself.
Days turned into nights, and nights into days as Pine continued her journey downstream. He encountered friendly fishermen and fellow adventurers along the way. He marveled at the sunrise over misty waters and was in awe at the magic that every twist and turn of the river revealed.
Eventually, the river led Pine to a wide expanse where it flowed into a calm and pristine lake. The lake's surface mirrored the sky, creating a seamless fusion of blue and white. As Pine drifted across the lake, he realized that his River Adventure had come full end!
