One day a boy placed Paddle in the Two Rivers. After a while nothing happened he only saw a few bass. But as it was nearing night it started getting foggy thunder was rumbling up above and then he heard a splashing up ahead. As he rounded a corner he sawa beaver Behind it he saw two more They were working on a dam. As he got closer the beaver splashed its tail and it swept Paddle underwater As he was underwater he got swept away in a current. Now he was rocketing towards the dam. When he got closer he went through a hole and then he got shot out the other side like someone spitting out gum The current was still carrying him It was like that for a few days until finally he got to the Red River. It started like the beginning of his journey nothing happened. But as it was getting closer to night smoke started to fill the air. The tree's leaves were starting to turn red wait they werent turning red they were on fire Then all of a sudden it was like the world was on fire around him Then the animals came paddle saw a pack of wolves a coyote a lot of elk does moose a family of black bears a few foxes a lynx and even a mountain lion A boulder up ahead was protecting the smaller animals like mice squirrels frogs and even a few snakes In the water there was a platypus and a few turtles. Then all the birds took to the skies. Paddle saw eagles falcons hawks crows owls and a lot more But despite all the chaos Paddle kept going. As he sailed on the fire got weaker and weaker until there was nothing left of the fire. Finally after a few peaceful weeks he reached Lake Winnipeg. Right as he got there he spotted a fisherman But he spotted Paddle and tried to get him with his fishing rod but after a few tries he gave up and went back to fishing. But because of the commotion it drew attention from a catfish and as it came up it swallowed Paddle But the fisherman saw this and grabbed the catfish and punched it in the gut. It worked The catfish coughed up Paddle. The fisherman grabbed Paddle before he could fall back in and threw the fish back in the water. He inspected Paddle closely So your name's Paddle huh well my names frank and I live right there. He turned Paddle around to face a house big enough for two. After that he flipped Paddle over and read the bottom. So you wanna keep going huh well then Ill help you with this He grabbed out a motor for the boat. Well enough talking let's go. He drove Paddle all the way to Nelson River. Well thats how far I can take you Good luck Paddle. With that he put Paddle in the Nelson River and off he went. After a while it started to snow and then later it also started to hail at the same time Then Paddle heard a splashing noise up ahead and out of the storm came a polar bear and its cubs They were in the river catching fish. Thankfully they didn't spot Paddle when he went by but right after that out of the forest came an arctic fox chasing a rabbit white as snow. But same as the first time they didn't see Paddle so again he went by without trouble. As it neared night it was dead silent except for a wolf howling in the distance but the best thing was the Northern Lights in the dark beautiful sky. It was another week before Paddle reached Hudson Bay. He was so close to the ocean. After an hour nothing happened until a bunch of dolphins popped up around Paddle. He took that as a sign he was close to the ocean. The dolphins stayed around Paddle because they were curious about what he was. They finally split off when they got to the ocean and Paddle found out why because up ahead there was a fin out of the water but that also split off when it saw all the dolphins scatter. Paddle finally got to sail happily.
