Once upon a time there was a girl and her canoe Lucille. The girl first dropped Lucille into the Tongue River west of Cavalier. Lucille saw a school of perch and a hawk grabbed her but it dropped her back in the water. She also saw a pellegen. She was lucky that the pellegen didnt see her. Lucille passed Bathgate. She made it to the Pembina River. There she saw a school of walleye and a bald eagle in its nest protecting its eggs. After a few days Lucille was in the Red River. She saw a chokecherry tree. Lucille got a little snack. There was something moving in a bush. It jumped out but it was just a raccoon. Another thing she saw was a deer eating from an American cranberry bush. There was also a river otter eating a mussel or clam. A wood duck was in the water. Lucille was by the duck. It was night. Lucille heard something but she couldnt see what was making the noise. It was aa screech owl It creeped Lucille out because it could turn its head all around. She fell asleep all of a sudden it was morning and Lucille was in Lake Winnipeg . Lucille was by the shore and a little girl saw her and picked her up and asked if she could keep the canoe. Her dad said No put it back in the water so it can keep going on its journey. So the little girl put her back in the water. After that Lucille made it to Emerson and saw some more things like a Johnny darter fish and a school of channel catfish and a paddlefish and a sturgeon. One week later Lucille was in Winnipeg. She got stuck on a twig . A day later an older man helped Lucille out and unstuck her. Then she was on her way hoping to make it to the Atlantic Ocean. After a few weeks she made it to Hudson Bay where she saw a beluga whalea walrus bowhead whale. She also saw a polar bearcaribou and a seal. Some of them were on land and some in water. Lucille had a great journey.
