It was early in the afternoon and I was going to put my canoe in the water just west of Cavalier. The canoes name was Strider. Strider went zipping down the Tongue River headed for the Pembina River. Strider had just reached Cavalier and then came to a sudden stop. A beaver just picked him up and put him in his dam Strider sat there waiting for someone or something to rescue him. Then all of a sudden he was off A river otter had seen him thinking he was a fish but when the river otter bit into him it realized he was wood and let him go. Strider had reached Bathgate still on the Tongue River a bald eagle flying high above him. Strider was now on the Pembina River. Strider passed a group of small mouth bass and reached Pembina. Strider heard a train pass and cars passing. He went by Pembina and was on the Red River. He went on and on through Lake Winnipeg and on the Nelson River. He saw walleye yellow perch and many other fish. Strider went through the Hudson River and made it to the Hudson Bay Strider had ended his journey. The End
