Canoe 25RD0427

This morning I hopped into my canoe down the Sandhill River for the first day of spring to make it halfway to Beltrami. On the way to Beltrami I saw a whole bunch of deer and I also saw a huge fish. Then it was really nerveracking so I had to camp on the side of the river. For supper I had to have fish. It was pretty good. Im not going to lie. Then after supper I went to my tent and got some sleep for the night. Then I realized that I was only two miles from Fertile so I thought I wouldnt be able to make it halfway to Beltrami before summer. The next day I traveled another two miles. It was pretty cool and it was just about summer. I think I had about four days until summer so I thought I would never make it to Beltrami. Then the water was dancing like fish. Next there was a big thunderstorm coming in from the south and I could hear it from three miles away. I thought I should wait this storm out until tomorrow. So for supper I had fish. Then I hit the hay. The next day I woke up at 8 oclock in the morning then I was canoeing until 7 oclock at night. I realized I finally got halfway to Beltrami with one day to spare. For supper I had fish tacos and it was really good. I was just enjoying the breeze while I was eating my tacos. It was nice. I had to hit the hay. I was off the next morning. It was pretty smooth until I hit some rocky and shallow stuff. I was getting rocked around the canoe until I went flying into the river. I was really soaked and I didnt have many clothes left. I had one more day until summer. The next day I set off again traveling three miles and I finally was just about of the way to Beltrami and that was the end of spring. Setting Summer It was summer and I jumped into my canoe down the river. I was just about to Beltrami. I saw a young cub and I thought the mother must be near. I had to hurry up because the mother was right there. I saw a deer and it was a mama with two baby fawns. I kept going and then it became sunset so I had to camp on the side of the river. Next I decided I needed something for supper so I caught a bass. That was a pretty good supper. I went to bed. The next day it was rainy so I decided to stay there for the rest of the day and go fishing. It was the end of the day and I was almost to Beltrami. That night I had more bass. It was the end of July and I was kind of excited because I could see more honey bees for honey. So I was off and I had to go one mile until I was to Beltrami. I saw a dead deer in the ditch. So I went by and saw the guts and I just about threw up. I had one hour left until the sunset. There was a huge thunderstorm again so I decided to camp out on the shore. The thunderstorm was like the angels bowling and the raindrops were like my mom pouring hot tea in a cup. Tomorrow would be the end of summer so I decided to hit the hay. Setting Fall The next day it was fall and I decided to keep on. I was going along until I saw the shore of the river kind of eroded away. I had to pull my canoe over due to the shallow waters. It was not fun. I can tell you that. Next I finally realized that I was two miles away from the Red River. The river started speeding up and I got a little scared so I had to slow my canoe down. I had to stop because I saw a few deer laying on the edge of the river. I didnt want to spook them even though they saw me and started running away. Then the water was speeding up like a jet again. I realized there was another thunderstorm coming my way. For the rest of the day I had to camp on the side of the river but I realized I was 12 miles from Winnipeg. I was off in my canoe the next morning trying to get all the way to Winnipeg. I wanted to at least see a trout. Then two hours later I finally saw a trout. Well here I am at the end of the season. I decided to stop by the side of the river and the reason for that is because I had to camp out for the rest of the night. I was off the next morning adventuring down the river until I hit some pretty shallow water and it felt like I was in the ocean during a tsunami. I decided to rest on the side and have some dinner when I realized this was the last day of fall. After dinner I went back to my canoe and pulled it over to the side. I decided that I would go another two miles until I could rest. Guess what I got to Winnipeg and it was a big city. This is the end of fall. Setting Winter Well it was winter and I was camping on the river side and my canoe was frozen in the ice and I couldnt get it out. About five minutes later I saw some deer going across the river and they didnt break the ice so that ice must be frozen deep. I also caught a bad cold. Next I decided to just make another fire and relax. I got an idea that I could try and melt the ice around my canoe to get it unstuck. This person came across the road and asked Are you OK and I replied Yeah Im fine just that I have this bad cold. He asked if I needed any medicine and I said No Ill be fine. The guy and I were talking and I found out his name was Jack. I asked if he had any food and he said yeah he had pizza. I asked if I could have some and he replied yeah sure. Jack and I became friends but he had to leave. I decided to hit the hay and tomorrow would be a busy day. The next day I decided to try and melt the ice around my canoe. Well it didnt go as planned. I may have melted the ice around me and fell in. Well at least it was just my one leg. After I got my leg out it was freezing ice. I realized that I could just sit by the fire and warm up my leg. It was the end of the day so I didnt go to supper that night because I was pretty full from what I had last night so I just decided to hit the hay. Ill see you at the end of the season. The next day I realized that I went all the way to Winnipeg and just about to Hudson Bay. That is where I will end my trip. It was the end of the season and tomorrow would be spring. I finally got my canoe unstuck from the ice which took the rest of the day. I decided to have a little something to eat and hit the hay. Setting Spring Well its spring. I hopped in my canoe down the Red River 12 miles away from Hudson Bay. I saw a few deer and that was it but then two miles later a few otters appeared. I knew I was getting close to Hudson Bay. So I decided to camp on the side of the river and for supper I had bass and then after that I watched the fire for a few hours. I decided to hit the hay. The next day I traveled a long way and I dont know how long it was. I decided to taste the water to see if it was salty. Well it was really salty and it was disgusting. Next I was at Hudson Bay and the rest of the day I just swam around. It was amazing that I finally made it to my dream destination. Now Im here and Im discovering all these creatures and things. I made a friend on the way and I will always remember this trip. I decided to just start a fire and stay up as long as I could trying to enjoy the natural environment. It was 1 oclock in the morning. I decided to hit the hay.
