My Wish I was dropped in the Sandhill River by a kid. He hoped I would journey to Hudson Bay. He hoped l would see a little rowboat in the current. He hoped I would see a moose in a grassy glade. He hoped I would see a wolf and a bear in a forest somewhere. I will try to fulfill this wish. Spring While floating in the Sandhill River I see a little rowboat bobbing in the current of the river. I am in Climax today I saw a big moose standing in the rushing water near the bank of the river. It had a big rack of antlers. Summer Today I saw a bear climbing a tree in the woods along the bank of the river. A little ways away I saw deer grazing in a field of wildflowers a buck stood watching over them. Fall I am in the Red River today I saw a squirrel scamper up a tree which bore many acorns. I see many colorful leaves on many types of trees. Winter I am finally in Canada today But I fear I am trapped on top of the ice. I am freed when an ice breaker ship breaks the ice underneath me The water russells me about like a baby playing with his toys. The sun smiled down at me as the rapids calmed and I drifted out into a small pond. A beaver dam floated on one side of the pond while a few fish swam around in the pond and a wolf hunted in the forest nearby. Spring Year Two I am in Hudson Bay today. My journey is complete A few ducks swim by while I continue my journey to the Atlantic Ocean. River of Dreams My Wish I was dropped in the Sandhill River by a kid.
