My Canoes Journey
Its raining today. I wonder if its even a good day to be launched into the river. I can hear the thunder and the sky lights up with lightning. Im scared. I dont even think I know how to swimbut I guess Ill float right Thats what Im made for. Good thing its still summer so I dont think itll be freezing out there.
Im starting my journey here at the Missouri River in Bismarck and Im just glad that this rain might speed up my journeyits quite heavy. They say the river always flows downward which means I get to see my owner in Mobridge where this river stretches. Ive heard good things about that place. My owner considers it her home away from her homeland.
Ill be gliding through Lake Oahe and seeing for myself the place where they say Sitting Bull was buried. Im thinking of just staying nearby since thats so close to my owner. I guess Ive got a thing for attachment. I just read that attachment is not considered a relationship so I really need to keep that in mind and continue my journey. Its a scary world out there and I feel like sticking to something familiar.
Oh Fort Yatesthe capital of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe. I didnt realize how wide the water is here.
After passing through Mobridge I realized this river still has a long stretch to go. I definitely wouldnt want to run into river snakes or snappy turtles. Do they snap at canoes though This journey along the Missouri River sure has its blind curves
I couldnt believe that the capital of North Dakota is connected to the capital of South Dakota. Thats something they have in commonaside from the Dakota in their names. LOL.
Hi Pierre
And the waters in Mobridge are connected to the waters in Chamberlainwhere Dignity stands No wonder water is considered sacred by its people.
Oh noIm leaving my life in South Dakota Where am I now I was thinking of just staying by Randall Creek. Yikes That wasnt a good idea because a fisherman found me and threw me back into the Missouri River. Good try self.
This part of my journey is tough now. It feels like the water is working hard to find its way down. I still want to continue but I think Im stuck here. Ill wait for someone to find me give me a little boost and help me keep going. Right now Im in Lewis and Clark Lake. And as far as I know Im still in South Dakota. LOL.
