WEEEEEE And away I go. My creator has just thrown me into the Missouri River here in Bismarck. It was very comfortable in the air however I am freezing my port side off in this water I needed to navigate through some bridge construction and made my way south of town. My creator and I hope to meet up in Mobridge sometime soon. As I travel I notice various species of fish below carp walleye northerns and even a paddlefish beautiful flowering plants on the banks of the river purple cone flowers yellow cone flowers Maximillian sunflowers and some yucca plants and trees cottonwood and burr oaks to name a few. These living creatures make my journey more enjoyable during the day as nights can be lonely. Alas I have arrived in Mobridge. Getting ready for winter. Found a nice little bay and hoping to stay here frozen in some water. Oh my is it coooolllddd Never realized how brutal the winter conditions can be. 200F for days on end. Winds that seem to never stop Barren looking prairies which seemed to have abundant living creatures now appear to have little to no life. How did people survive these conditions for so many years Finally daylight that lasts for more than 10 hours. I have broken from the ice and I am on my way to the first large dam. Took me 1 year to get carried over the dam thanks little Suzie but I am on my way. Many of the organisms I have seen remain the same however I marvel at the bridges boats and dams that humans have made to enjoy and control the water. Hello St. Louis I have seen the Gateway Arch I am hearing the hustle and bustle of the large city and I am excited to reach the confluence of the Missouri and Mississippi rivers The waters appear to be warmer yet of equal quality in appearance and chemical makeup. I have spotted a few bald eagles on the way along with some enormous barges. The flow rate of the river has significantly increased from my beginnings in Bismarck. Sure is hot and humid here in the deep south. I dont particularly care for the weather nor do I care for the new reptiles I have seen. Ice will not be an issue here I recently zipped through Missouri and Arkansas and I am looking at Baton Rouge off in the distance. Well I made it 10 years have passed and I am at the mouth of the Mississippi river I couldnt be more grateful to the individuals who have helped me make this dream come true. I have seen a great diversity of life human ingenuity and hope for the continued health of the Missouri and Mississippi river basins If managed properly everyone can enjoy and prosper along this majestic watershed. Mexico here I come
