My canoe started in Crookston, MN and his name was James. I set it off at the Red Lake River during the spring months. Then James started his journey. He first went to Fisher then got stuck in some rocks. After 20 days, it was summer. The water begins to rise after a 2 day thunderstorm. Once the river rises, James is set free. Along the way, James got out of the rocks and a little girl sees James. She picks James up and sees a note on him. The note said, Չ€œlet me be with the waterՉ€ so the little girl put James back in the river. James was on his way to East Grand Forks. Lots of animals were splashing in the water. James got hit by a bearՉ€™s paw. The bear carries James around in the water. James continues on with his journey on his wa to the Canadian Border. A large moose ran by James in the water and the rocks and water were splashing all around him. After James passes the Canadian Border, he goes to Winnipeg. James was in danger. There were lots of rocks and many other animals such as a moose and many bears. James witnessed the moose and the bears fighting. He decided it was best to get out of there and go to Lake Winnipeg. There ways lots of bears around him then the bears almost stepped on James he got stuck in a rock and the bears were fighting to get on the other side of the river. After the night the water in Lake Winnipeg began to rise up. James had a chance to escape so he did and was on his way. On his way out of Lake Winnipeg, some birds grabbed him. Then James was in the sky with the bird. James could not believe the views from the sky. As the bird flew, he realized how heavy James was and dropped him back into the water. Then it was close to winter and a little boy sees a canoe in the mud. The little boy picked up the canoe and then kept James all winter. The things the little boy did with James in the winter was not so great. He painted him red on the bottom and played with him. Then after being in the care of the little boy, spring was about to come. Once the snow and ice started to melt, the little boy put James back in Lake Winnipeg and after some more strenuous days of travel, James makes it to Hudson Bay.
