Mckenna's Adventure - My canoe, Mckenna gets launched in Crookston, Minnesota in the Red Lake River. The river was turning, oh no Mckenna flipped over. She hit the river bank. Then a girl named Emily found Mckenna and picked her up in Fisher, Minnesota. Emily put Mckenna in a bag. It was a dark, cold and scary bag. Then Emily was put in a small white car and Mckenna drove to East Grand Forks, Minnesota. Emily stopped in East Grand Forks, Minnesota and released Mckenna into the Red Lake River. Mckenna was on her journey again. In Grand Forks, North Dakota the Red Lake River merges into the Red River. Oh no, a beaver came from the right side of her and tipped her over. She washed up on shore in the Red River just out of Grand Forks, North Dakota. It was now fall and and the water started to get colder and colder. Brrrrrrrrrr she was super cold. It started to snow and she was still stuck on the the river bank. Mckenna was scared that she would be stuck there for the rest of the winter and didn't want that to happen so she tried to move but couldn't ( and tried again and again but no results). Then the ice melted and it was spring and the water washed to shore and Mckenna came out with the current and was on her adventure again. Mckenna was now at the United States/Canadian border but still in the Red River. Mckenna saw some Canadian geese up in the sky on her way to Lake Winnipeg. Mckenna was on the Red River almost to Lake Winnipeg when she saw a sign that said two miles to Winnipeg, she was excited. Whoa a big catfish was swimming next to her the next two miles. They were in the middle of Lake Winnipeg when suddenly a big wave came from a boat and brought Mckenna into shore. A dog picked her up and brought her to a nine year old girl named Kendra. Kendra was so happy. KendraՉ€™s mom Melissa, told Kendra that they should put Mckenna back into Lake Winnipeg, which was a good idea because Mckenna wanted to get back on her adventure. So Mckenna was now on her journey again. She was in the middle of Lake Winnipeg now. Mckenna was flowing north. Here comes more Canadian geese. She was very annoyed by the honking geese. Before she knew it, she was in the Nelson River on her way to Hudson Bay. There were some walleye swimming next to Mckenna as she breezed through the nice wind. She was happy that she could enjoy being on the water. Whoa, whoa!! She was flowing at twenty miles per hour and having so much FUN!!!!!! There was a sign that said five miles to Hudson Bay. YAY Mckenna was almost to Hudson Bay! After two hours Mckenna was in Hudson Bay but there was a big problem Mckenna was stuck on an iceberg. Brrrrrrrrr she was shivering it was cold. But she managed to get off the iceberg by wiggling and she swam through the cold water. Whoa that beluga whale was gigantic. Awwww those baby polar bears are so cute. Hudson Bay was MckennaՉ€™s new home. She loves it and wakes up every morning to baby polar bears playing around her.
