VikingՉs Journey - Hi, my name is Viking and I am a canoe who wants to reach the Hudson Bay. My journey begins in Crookston, Minnesota on the Red Lake River.
ՉSPLASH!Չ Oh no, a boy named Andreas threw me into the water. ՉWhew,Չ IՉm lucky to have landed right side up. The water is rough because of all the other canoes around me making huge waves. Finally, the waves died down and the current started pushing me on my way. The river felt warm against my wooden sides and I moved calmly along curving back and forth.
Oh no, there is a rock ahead and IՉm going right at it. ՉBoom!Չ I go flying up in the air and land hard on the water, almost on the shore. As soon as I landed another rock was ahead, ՉWhewՉ I missed it. If I would have hit that rock it could have split me wide open. The water smells like fish.
Now IՉm in Fisher. ՉAhhhhhhՉ»Չ a fisherman just picked me up off the shore. I was so scared because I have never had anyone pick me up except for Andreas.
Thirty minutes later, the fisherman brought me to his house. The fisherman put me in his fish bag, IՉll tell you it smelled BAD. Now heՉs at his house looking at my story on the internet, after reading it, he brought me to Grand Forks and put me in the Red River.
Oooooo thereՉs a fish beside me and IՉm traveling very, very slow. On the next day, he sees a tornado coming at him very fast. ՉAaaaaaa!Չ Speed up speed up. Oh no the tornado got me, ItՉs going very fffaaasssstttt that is knocks me out. ZZZZZZZZZ. When finally I wake up, wow IՉm in Winnipeg floating in Lake Winnipeg. That was a long trip, luckily I was out. During my trip in the tornado, I crossed the United States/Canadian border. . Well here I am safely in Lake Winnipeg.
I see green grass, beautiful flowers, lily pads, pine trees, frogs, beavers and birds chirping. I am flowing down the river very slow. Look the sun is going down now. It's time to sleep.
ՉWh..wh.. What woke me up?Չ Oh it was just a beaver, time to go back to sleep. WHAT? ThatՉs right, beavers like wood! Oh, no! I need to go fast, go faster. Oh no, he just grabbed me in his mouth. Ten minutes later IՉm in the beaverՉs lodge he didnՉt break me or hurt me and then decides I am too small so he throws me out.
Look a swift current brought me to Hudson Bay. Yay, IՉm finally in Hudson Bay. OoooooooՉ». I see a Beluga whale. He is really cool with his big tail flapping in the water. Oh wow, thereՉs a polar bear tending to his cubs.
Woosh the wind is picking up and pushing me swiftly down the bay. Oh, tՉs very, very cold with all these icebergs surrounding me.
It took me a month to get out of that icy water, it was very cold.
Now IՉm in the Huston Stright. Woh, the wind is pushing me very, very fast , I flowed swiftly through the Labrador Sea because of the wind spe
Woh, that tanker is really big. Its current is pulling me behind it. Taking me with it finally somebody picked me up when the tanker stopped. Now somebody brought me back to Andreas.
