A Dream for my Canoe!
My canoe will make it all the way to Oslo. I hope it sees ducks and meets many species of fish. Along the way, my canoeՉs journey will be thrilling.
My journey will start here in Crookston, MN down in Central Park. I will be launch sometime in May. I will start my journey floating down the Red Lake River. I will see catfish, beavers, and geese. I will make my way down stream through all the horseshoe bends and end up in Fisher, MN. I will get stuck on a tree that is hanging down in the water. I will stay there all winter. I felt the cold surround me and I knew I was going to be stuck in the ice. I had to wait until spring to continue my journey. Once the ice broke it set me free and I was on my way again. This time I was dodging sheets of ice and trying to stay on the main river and not float into the flooded areas. With the high water I was able to make it to Grand Forks, ND in just under three weeks. Once there I changed rivers and started to float on the Red River. This river now will carry me north to my final destination. Before I reached Oslo I got snagged in some river vegetation. It was so thick and heavy that I could not move or escape. At that very moment when I thought all was lost, a smallmouth bass jumped right next to me and I was able to escape. Now I have finally made it to my final destination, Oslo, MN. Now that I am here I hope to find a nice family that will either take me or set me sailing once again to continue my journey.
