CANOE DREAM!
#19rd754
My name is Franklin and I was launched in Crookston, Minnesota at Central Park on Thursday, May 23, 2019.
When I was on my way to Fisher, Minnesota I hit a big rock and got stuck behind it for six days. I got very hot because it was June. Then finally, I got hit by a huge wave and I was freed from the rock.
A few days later, a gray fox saw me. I knew I was adventurous, but I didnՉt like animals at all. The fox looked very interested in me, then another big wave hit me, and turned me around, as I was facing backwards, I saw that the gray fox was chasing me. He lost interest in me and ran off.
I started floating close to shore. Suddenly, a nice little girl came and picked me up and brought me home to her little play-house. She didn't know how to read. She showed me to her mother and the mother read my message for her,
ՉThis canoe was launched by a student in the Red River Basin. Log your discovery and learn about this canoe at the riverofdreams.orgՉ
The girl was very sad as she had to put me back, but she didn't really have any choice. So the next day, she launched me into the Red Lake River by Fisher, Minnesota.
Two weeks later, I was in East Grand Forks. I knew this water would be pretty rough with the confluence of East Grand Forks and Grand Forks. Confluences are crazy because it is a crazy body of water. One day later I got stuck in mud and a snake saw me. I was TERRIFIED. Like I said I donՉt like animals at all The confluence was so strong I got washed away and I never saw that snake again. After one week of no harm of animals the biggest animal of my adventure came in. it was a bear who looked angry and started to run after me and got a hang of me, bit me so many times. It thought the wood was so groose he let me go. A few days after I reached North Dakota in the Red River and I saw a big fish was surrounding me under water. It was a muskie. It did not look happy. Then it jumped out of the water and tried to get me but landed on the shore. The weather started getting colder and colder everyday. Then one week later I started seeing some ice and soon enough I got stuck under the ice. The ice was still moving on the water and surprisingly I was in Pembina, North Dakota three days later. Eventually the ice started to melt and I was set free sooner than anything, but of course it started to flood in North dakota. I had been on the water for eighty-nine days, but I got stuck on shore when the water went down from the flood. So a car stopped by and fixed me up and launched me back into the Red River. Soon I saw the border. I saw many cars and I was out of there the quickest I have ever been any were. Six days later I was in Winnipeg, Manitota, Red River It was a little bumpy on the water but the further I kept going I saw a big green thing and when I got under it it was falling. And landed right on me I got stuck under this tree for two weeks than kind people decided to take me and redecorated me and launched me back into what I thought was the Red River but instead they threw me in the Nelson River. And one day I found a cool bridge and I found millions of bird nests and it was really scary but I lived. And one day I made it to Hudson Bay.I had now been on the water for six years
