GeorgeՉ€™s Adventure 19RD0756 My canoeՉ€™s name is George and I hope he will go to the Hudson Bay. I was launched on Thursday, May 23, 2019 in the Red Lake River at Central Park in Crookston, Minnesota. I was scared because I was thought that I wouldn't make it to Hudson Bay. I was traveling in the Red Lake River, and I saw some fish in the river swimming below me, they were traveling in schools. I also saw some geese flying above me, they were making a lot of honking noise. About two weeks later, I was still in the Red Lake River when I saw Fisher, Minnesota. Then all of a sudden, I stopped. I realized I got caught in a branch. I hoped I would get free again. Then I saw a fish swim by and wished I was floating free like he was swimming around. Sometime later, a person in a kayak saw me and picked me up. I was worried he wouldn't put me back in the water but he did once he saw the note. I was free once again. I saw a deer eating some apples off of a tree. After about three weeks of traveling, it was soon June. I was still in the Red Lake River, I got to East Grand Forks, Minnesota and there was a confluence and I started floating really fast. It felt like I was going to sink, I was so frightened because the Red Lake River was moving into the Red River super fast. After a few minutes, I started to slow down. After about two days, I went under the bridge to get to Grand Forks, North Dakota. I was so happy I made it to Grand Forks safe. I was traveling down the Red River when I saw two squirrels chasing each other it looked like they were playing a game. I wished I had a buddy like them. A day later, I spotted a little boy fishing with his dad, then they saw me and picked me out of the water. The said he wanted to keep me so he brought me home. I was scared because I thought he was going to keep me. When the man got home he showed me to his daughter and she flipped me over and told her dad that he should put me back in the water, so the man put me back in the water. About four weeks later, it was July. I got to Pembina, North Dakota. I saw the boarder to get to Canada. Soon I would be in Canada!! It took me one hour to get through the border which felt like days. I was so excited, I was in Canada, just then I saw a hawk, it looked scary and I was frightened. The hawk swooped down and it looked like it was coming towards me but luckily it was aiming for a different creature. I was so relieved. After about two weeks, I got to Lake Winnipeg and passed Manitoba, Canada. I saw a beaver swimming in the lake getting sticks for his dam. I also saw a bear mom with her cubs looking for some fish. The cubs were always close behind their mom. A few days later, I saw the shore and was getting close, soon I got close enough that I was washed up on the beach. I was frightened. I was still there a few day later when a girl picked me up and put me back in the water. Soon, there was a storm and I was terrified. It felt like I was sinking. Finally, after about an hour in the storm the waves settled down. After about five months, it was August and I went out of Lake Winnipeg and into the Nelson River, Canada and I saw no towns. On my way down the Nelson River I saw some wolves chasing a cantaloupe. The waves got rough now and then but in was usually fine. The river started to freeze and I almost got stuck in the ice, but I kept on going. After two days, I realized I got stuck in some ice but I was still going downriver. Finally, after about four months of traveling on the Nelson River I saw the Hudson Bay, hooray!!!!! I was still stuck in some moving ice when as I traveled into Hudson Bay. The waves got rough, but I barely noticed because I was so excited!
