My CanoeԹԲs Journey
Canoe # 19RD0757
Day 1 - Launch Day
I was launched Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Central Park in Crookston, Minnesota on the Red Lake River. I hope I can paddle to Hudson Bay. I felt excited when I was thrown the water. I made a splash as I hit the water and boy did that current hit me. I soon was floating down stream and around curves and on my long journey.
Day 20 - Fisher, Minnesota
I'm tired of looking at trees and fish. I finally see some people boating. Թ—The Red Lake River is not very red.Թ—
Day 45 - East Grand Forks, Minnesota
Wow, that is a lot of people driving over that bridge and a lot of waves. Here comes the confluence, bye bye Minnesota and Red Lake River.
Day 45 Թզ - Grand Forks, North Dakota
I'm now in the Red River and in North Dakota and I'm floating faster.
Day 68 - Thirty Miles north of Grand Forks
The river level is going down because we are in a drought I think. I'm stuck on a sandbar. I think I will be stuck a long time on the sand bar.
Day 100 - Free At Last
I'm finally moving again in the Red River after a rainfall. Why are there so many dear in this neck of the woods?
Day 160 - Ice
The river is freezing over and I'm stuck in the ice.
Day 360 - Lets Go
Again after a cold icy winter I'm moving again. It was a little warmer under the snow.
Day 420 - Pembina, North Dakota
IԹԲv seen trillions of trees and not a lot of people around.
Day 422 - The Border
Wow, that is a lot of cars and trucks trying to get to Canada or the USA. I'm lucky I just float right by.
Day 500 - Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada
Wow, that is a lot of people on the shore and bridges.
Day 560 - Lake Winnipeg
That is a lot of fishing boats and fish in this brownish Lake Winnipeg.
Day 590 - The Nelson River
After a long float, I finally reach the Nelson River.
Day 650 - Hudson Bay
Wow, that is a lot of water. Bye bye land.
Day 680 - lost
IԹԲm lost in ice and snow in Hudson Bay.
