This is a story about Mack the canoe.
I was launched on May 23, 2019 in Central Park, Crookston, Minnesota.
The animals I saw so far are deer and lots of fish. I started to count all the fish but I fell asleep. After I woke up, I couldn't feel the river because I was on the shore. A few days later, I was caught by the waves and it pulled me back into the river.
Day 30 - Fisher Minnesota
I was now in Fisher, Minnesota. As I was flowing through the river, I saw tall buildings. They were super fun to look at. I saw lots of animals like deer, birds, and fox.
The next day, I saw lots of houses, I got stuck by one of the houses then the waves pulled me in again.
Day 56 - East Grand Forks, Minnesota
There were a lot of waves due to the confluence were the Red Lake River and the Red River meets. It was so bad that I tipped over for a while then some more waves came and tipped me up right .
Day 64 - Grand Forks North Dakota
The confluence got even worse so I got stuck on the edge of the Red River by a house. The people who lived there were outside, but nobody saw me. I was there all night.
The next day, I woke up and they were outside again. They were bringing this big thing with wheels on the end and they rolled it into the Red River close where I was sitting. After a while, a girl spotted me, and picked me up. She said dad look what I found. The dad read the message and took a picture before he put me back in the water. They called the big thing a dock.
Day 70 - Manitoba, Canada
As I was flowing along, I came to all of these logs, and crashed into one. I sat there hung up on the log for many days, until I was able to get free. I saw a lot of wildlife in Canada. Soon a frog came and jumped on top of me and rode along with me for a while but then he jumped back in the Red River.
Day 83 - Lake Winnipeg, Canada
I have finally made it to Lake Winnipeg and got stuck up on a sandy beach. Kids were up playing by me and as soon as they spotted me they picked me up and asked their parents if they could keep me. They said yes. My new family is with the kids in lake Winnipeg, Canada. I love my new home!!
