Once upon a time, there was a canoe that was named Mighty Maximus. His name meant strength because he was very strong on his journey. Maximus first saw a deer near East Grand Forks and the deer was drinking water when he saw Maximus. The deer took Maximus and brought him into the woods. There Maximus and the deer stayed the night. When the deer woke up he took Maximus and ran North by the river. The deer was tired so he got a drink and set Maximus down in the water. After that, Maximus never saw the deer. Maximus was down by the border when a bird came and scooped him up thinking Maximus was prey. The bird took Maximus far into the river almost to Lake Winnipeg. Then all of a sudden he got dropped back into the river and a catfish swallowed him. After a while, Maximus got puked up into a bank in Lake Winnipeg and stayed there for the rest of time.
