There is this girl that lived in a very small town, on the country roads of North Dakota. Her name was Rachel, she loved the outdoors and would do anything to be outside. Her dream was to canoe from the Red River Basin all the way to the Hudson Bay. Her mother told her to come inside when she was feeding the horses in the barn. Her mom told her about this virus called COVID-19 where she would have to stay inside until they found a cure. Even though she lived in a very small town, they wonՉt be able to go to town and be outdoors as much as she did. When she heard this news she was scared of not being able to make her dream come true. The main question in her head was what if they donՉt find a cure? So she got right to work and made a miniature canoe that she would release in the Red River in hopes it would make it to the Hudson Bay, just like she wanted. She released the boat the day after, she put her number on there with a note that said, ՉIf you find this boat text me where the canoe has reached and please put it back on its journey!Չ You could not imagine what the canoe saw! They saw so many animals, people, and beautiful scenery! The canoe got stuck 3 times, but every time people picked it up recorded where they saw it, and sent it back on itՉs journey. The canoe made it all the way to the middle of the Hudson Bay! That was the last time it was seen, Rachel was so happy that the canoe made it to where she wanted to be. COVID-19 was a stressful and scary time for her, but knowing that apart of her dream came true made it all better.
