PeachesՉ Journey.
I will launch my canoe, Peaches, in the Clearwater River and she will make it all the way to Hudson Bay. Peaches might be scared at the beginning of her journey. She will see new things and maybe get a little help from new people. I hope she will have fun on her journey. After she rode for a while looking at everything, she got to Red Lake Falls. There she got on the Red Lake River. There she saw a moose but she was not scared because he looked like a big deer. That reminded her of something she had heard of called a farm. A girl had said they had all kinds of animals there, but before she got a chance to see one she reached Crookston then Grand Forks. She got picked up in Grand Forks by a family of four. They brought her in because it was cold and rainy. She stayed the night in their apartment and got brought back to her place in the morning. She got to East Grand Forks in about an hour and joined the Red River. After a while she got so excited because she could see a farm up ahead. Ever since she heard about a farm, she dreamed of seeing all the animals. She could see cows, pigs, chickens, horses, and goats! She was amazed at how big the farm was and she could see many workers all trying to get their work done. She passed the farm and was into the forest and on her way to Canada. For a long time she didnՉt see anything interesting until she saw a sign. It said ՉWelcome to CanadaՉ. She was very happy to make it to Canada. She started her way through the calm wilderness when suddenly a moose reached down and plucked her out of the water. He brought her through the woods until they reached an open spot. There he dropped her and didnՉt come back that night or the next morning. In fact, he didnՉt come back that week. When she was finally giving up that no one would find her, two children came running through the woods. They picked her up and brought her back to the river and she was on her way. She rode for quite some time time before she reached lake Winnipeg. It was amazing! She was surprised at how far she had gone. She loved the lake views but was soon back on her way. She saw many more animals, none of which tried to kidnap her. She saw homes with children playing in the yards. She missed her maker and her home but she was excited to see what was ahead. It felt like a week but was probably a month or more when she reached her destination, Hudson Bay. It was a beautiful place! When she looked at the bay she knew there were more adventures to come.
