Canoe 21RD0279

This is the story of my canoe, that started in the Sheyenne River, and reached the Hudson Bay. It went through beautiful woodlands, still marshes, and roaring waterfalls. It was a perch for all kinds of birds as it drifted down the Red River. Fish leaped out of the water and back in with a splash. It was a lonesome journey in the Red River, but when my canoe washed up on the shores of Lake Winnipeg, it got more exciting. A woman found my paddle-to-the-sea while she was taking a mornign stroll on the beach. It was Autumn, so whe nshe read the sign, she decided to keep it for the winter, when the lake froze over. Next spring, she launched the canoe on the banks of the Nelson River. As my canoe drifted up the still river, an arctic fox swam by and grabbed the canoe with its teeth. Realizing that the canoe was not food, it dropped on the riverbank and ran into the woods. During the night, more animals come to investigate my canoe, like deer, squirrels, and owls. At about midnight, the tide rose and swept my paddle-to-the-sea back on its journey. In the morning, my canoe got stuck on a branch and could not get out. All of a sudden, the current pulled so hard that the limb let go. My canoe was pulled into rushing rapids. Suddenly, Whoosh! My paddle-to-the-sea plummeted down a giant waterfall and splashed down on the river below! Then, all was still. My canoe drifted through a cool mist. A month passed with not much more events. The river got wider and wider, and the water got saltier and saltier. In the Hudson Bay, on a frosty Autumn morning, a man on a speedboat spotted a small shape in the fog. It got closer and closer, and then it bumped up against his boat. The man fished it out of the water and looked at it. He saw that it was a tiny canoe. He looked closer and say that it had come from the Sheyenne River in North Dakota. The man was amazed! In the spring, he launched it into the Atlantic Ocean. Now this is the end of my story, but not my canoe's. Who know where it will travel?
