My canoe's name is Ray of light. I would like it if my Ray of light made it to Nelson River. I hope Ray of light sees caribou, a beluga whale, and a timber wolf. I hope Ray of light meets unique people doing their jobs and my grandpa who fishes in the big Lake Winnipeg. Ray of light was launched of April 16th 1842 into the Sheyenne River off it went. Water in one hand and a paddle in its other. On May 15th a girl in Lisbon found it and took it home and put it back in after the girl fixed it up. On June 9th just got in the Red River my cousin found it in a log wedged in there and she told me and we repainted it and off it went on the Red River. Two months later after my cousin and I launched it, it is in the great lake of Winnipeg. The year is 1842, Ray of light saw unique people doing their jobs and they were Indians and saw whitefish and burbot. August 21st the water is getting cooler. Around the big lake of Winnipeg. October 5th the water froze Ray of light is stuck in the middle of the big lake of Winnipeg. Froze to a big log. An ice fisher saw Ray of light drive his dog sled over and took him out of the ice and brought him home and repainted Ray of light and waited to set him off again. Next spring was put back but at the begging of the great big lake of Winnipeg. April 5th in the Nelson River almost to Hudson Bay. One year later in Hudson Bay someone saw it and mailed us a letter and said I found your Ray of light and then she mailed it to me.
