Im Sandy and Im going to the sea. Its spring and I am right now at the Sand Hill River in Fertile Minnesota at the Nature Center. My goal is to make it to the Hudson Bay. Im excited because Im with 39 other canoes and I love adventures. Thats why Im named Sandy. I am bright orange with a painted sunset on my canoe. And I hope I will have a smooth fun and adventurous journey. And now I am off to the sea I traveled far but I have a buddy We traveled a season together. I see a big sign that says Welcome to Beltrami. Im in a new town. Theres trees houses and more houses. But whats that Its tall and big it has the word West Central on the top My journey is fun I see geese in the water and birds in the sky. Oh A grizzly cub is in the woods. How cute Well Im getting far I guess Beltrami was my first stop and Im coming for the next Now I see a new town in the distance. Its cold and leaves have changed because it's fall A new season I still have my buddy I still have some color it's just fading. And here we are at Climax Im in a new town and headed into a new river the Red River Bye Sand Hill River and hi Red RiverIts cold and windy and a LOT of snow is falling. Its hard to get past. OH NO My buddy is on the other side of the river. And now Im in the Forest River not able to see my buddy. But I see a town. A bridge goes above me high above me. Theres buildings on landIm in Drayton Ahhh The storm made me spin and spin and flip me upside down Now all I can see is green yucky water.Wait Im free something grabbed me but not a human an eagle It swooped me out of the river and dropped me in a field by the river. When I thought all hope was gone a guy picked me up and freed me. He was nice enough to put me back in the river but in Canada I was happy to be back in the river and on my way to the Hudson BayWow Canada is cool. Theres lots of animals like bears wolves deer rabbits coyotes foxes fawns geese birds blue jays and so much more And now Ive made it to Winnipeg Its big and Im tiny. Theres buildings 1000 feet high Theres a church business buildings companies and factories and a new river wait Its not a river it's a lake Lake Winnipeg Theres beaches but they're empty. Well probably because it's winter Im sliding on the ice because of the wind burrr I wonder where I am. It's spring and its been two years. Wait I made it to the Hudson Bay and now to the North Atlantic Ocean in France Somebody picked me upshe looks familiarshe yells My canoe I am her canoe Im Annies canoe The person who colored me named me and most importantly found me.
