I shall be seen, down the river so keen, to get to the place, we shall see,
down the River I flew, (or floated)
seeing all the morning dew, the places I have seen,
oh, the places I have seen,
through the deer and bear, through all the hares,
through all the creatures everywhere,
I have been caught by the beaverՉs dam, the childՉs crayon, (he built a wall in the water)
but every time, I have been saved by the people, most kind and some blind,
but they have rescued me and helped me flee,
from the place that I have been troubled, but then the danger will be doubled,
what I have seen, the brown, brown deer, eating its morning meal,
the big, big, bear eating its own share of its morning meal, all give me a case of the shivers,
but I know, if any animal tries to eat me,
they will get quite a few slivers,
I will keep on going, wherever the water will send me rowing,
hopefully, to Hudson Bay.
