This canoe was launched in the Saint Louis River at Jay Cook State Park, near Duluth, Minnesota by the 2021 Conservation Corps of MN & IA Individual Placement service members. The Saint Louis River is the extreme headwaters to the Saint Lawrence River that flows into the Atlantic Ocean. Which means, this canoe will begin its journey at the Saint Louis River, travel through the all of the Great Lakes starting at Lake Superior, and eventually reach the Atlantic ocean through the Saint Lawrence River. This is the first canoe launched by the International Water Institute that will attempt to travel the same route as the canoe from the book "Paddle to the Sea" by Holling C. Holling.
