Paddle to the sea
By Reese
Hello! My name is Daisy.
I am going on an adventure.
I hope I will reach Hudson Bay at some point to see my boat friend Rose.
I hope to see cute and fluffy animals.
I hope to see trails with little children and their families.
Ok IՉm starting my adventure.
Somebody named Reese threw me in the Sand Hill River.
As I was traveling with my boat friend Rose
I saw some kids playing in the grass.
It was a nice warm sunny day in spring.
It was getting dark.
I smelt a nice bonfire.
I heard an owl going hoo hoo.
The next morning we were going as fast as a cheetah through the Red River in Crookston.
Soon we will be in Grand Forks.
Rose was behind me.
I tried stopping, but I couldnՉt.
Finally she caught up.
Plop (what was that?)
Plop.. plop (ahhhh what is it?)
ՉIt is just a rock!Չ Rose reminded me.
ՉThere were some earlierՉI thought
Oh yeah! Those huge thing-a-ma-boppers.
I have another boat friend named Rick.
Rose and I met with Rick in Grand Forks.
We saw Starbucks! Yum!
It was very dark.
I saw beautiful little lights in the sky.
There were only some cars and lights in the city.
I also smelt Taco Bell.
We were going as slow as a snail as the morning sun was reflecting off the river.
It was a nice summer day in Winnipeg .
I felt the cold wind blow on me as we cruised down the glass smooth river.
Rick is far ahead and he disappeared .
All of a sudden Rose and I felt a hand pick us up out of the water .
It was a man who had ash from trains on his work clothes.
He put us back and we continued our journey.
We saw something behind the bush.
It was a fluffy bear cub.
It was brown with a black nose.
Uh oh I canՉt find Rose.
She is gone .
I was sad but I kept going.
As the sun fell and the stars came out I thought of Hudson Bay .
I came across a town on my journey.
I admired the stands that had bracelets, lemonade and food.
Wow Hudson Bay!
ItՉs beautiful.
There are fluffy polar bears with their moms.
And the best part? I found Rose.
I canՉt believe I made it here.
