I start my journey in the Sand Hill River at late spring I feel the cold water under me I see a doe drinking from the river I see a bird fly above me like a dart shooting through the air I reach Beltrami in early summer The river is straighter now and the waterՉ€™s warm I see a blue glistening fish jumping from the water beside me I smell the flowerՉ€™s sweet odor I feel the smooth rocks under me I reach Climax in early summer I see wolves running south through the woods like skipping rocks on the water I see patches of colorful flowers I smell smoke coming from the forests I see fire burning like poison ivy growing I see people dashing to put out the fire I hear the wind blowing The smell of smoke is gone I hear sticks cracking like candy canes I see a doe with her fawn I keep heading north in late summer I smell the leaves on the trees I see birds flying in the sky The water is getting colder I see a buck drinking from the river I feel a bird land on me I feel the cold breeze I see the cattails by the river I smell the sourness of the air I feel a fish swimming under me I reach Grand Forks in early fall I see the leaves changing their color to yellow I smell the sweet scented apples I see the corn turning brown I feel the chilliness of the air that matches the water I see a black bird with its hatchlings in a tree I see a black bear looking for its den I get a whiff of the sweet smell of fresh honey I feel a sharp object scratch against me I smell the dewy grass I reach Winnipeg in late fall I feel the frigid water under me I see the leaves falling from the trees I see a white rabbit trying to find food I see geese flying south I hear leaves rustling on the ground I feel the icy water forming ice chunks on the water I see flowers withering I see small snowflakes falling from the sky I feel IՉ€™m starting to slow down I hear no birds chirping I see a train moving by me I see a mitten floating by me I feel someone pick me up out of the water They set me in the water closer to Hudson Bay I made it to Hudson Bay in late winter I made it to Hudson Bay My journey is at an end I hope you like my journey From your dearest friend I am paddle to the sea
