My name is Crusher Canoe. I am starting my journey at the Tongue River and ending it at Hudson Bay. This is how my journey began. I started off in this person's hand. We were walking to the Tongue River when all of a sudden I was in the air. A few seconds later I was in the water. I heard a bunch of noises and then I realized that I was in the Tongue River in Cavalier.I was scared half way to death because I knew right then and there this was where my journey was about to begin. As I was going down the river I heard a noise in the water. I saw something trying to get out of a green ash tree and then I knew that it was a northern pike. I tried to get away from it but then I got stuck in a green ash tree. I for sure thought that I was done but then an orange spotted sunfish gave me a hand and I got away from the northern pike. I was a very happy canoe when I got away from the northern pike. I was almost at the Pembina River when I heard noise from above me. I thought that it was Pembina and I was right. It turned out that it was people fishing. They had a slimy sturgeon on it. The sturgeon was gray and no other color. All of a sudden when I was thinking about the sturgeon a mountain bluebird had swooped me out of the water probably trying to build a nest out of me. While I was up in the air she dropped me onto an iron wood tree. I didnt even think of how I was going to get back into the water. I was just thinking of where the bird was. I saw it out of the corner of my eye . It was eating off of a juneberry bush. I was safe from the mountain bluebird but I had no idea how I was going to get out of the bush. As I was thinking that I was doomed a person found me and put me back in the water. I was on my way to the Red River. I was finally in the Red River after twenty two days of drifting in the Pembina River. I saw the cutest little freshwater drum trying to eat a chokecherry that had fallen into the water by a chokecherry tree. While I was by Emerson I passed by a cottonwood tree. There was cotton all over the place. Although it was a pretty thing to look at a black bullhead fish had tried to eat the cotton and was not looking too good. I kept on moving until I was at Lake Winnipeg. As I was in Lake Winnipeg I saw someone cooking walleye. It smelled so good but he was also cooking some channel catfish which did not smell as good. The person was eating some berries from a choke cherry tree. As I thought that this might be an easy trip I got stuck in a vine. Then the person came over and helped me out. He said Looks like someone has got stuck in a woodbine vine. I was so glad to be out and even more glad to be on my way to the Nelson River. In the Nelson River I went by so many different plants all the way to American cranberry to an aspen tree. In the Nelson River it was very strange. I did not see as many fish but I did see a lot of big birds like eastern screech owls. A turkey vulture had taken me out of the water but he put me back in. I was exhausted. I had not slept in forever so I fell asleep. I woke up and I thought that I was still a little tired because I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me. I saw Arctic animals and plants I knew I was in Hudson Bay. There were super pretty Arctic poppies. I also saw an aspen tree covered in snow. It was an amazing view until a huge polar bear came and tried to eat me. There was no way I was going to get out of this. As he was trying to eat me he saw a seal. Then he went after the seal and not me. I was so excited that I was not going to be eaten. That was until the polar bear came back because the seal had escaped and was trying to eat me again. I almost escaped but I got stuck on a piece of ice. The big polar bear picked me up in his mouth and carried me. He had carried me all the way to a den There were cubs in the den. The polar bear had set me down on the snowy ground. The cubs had started to play with me. They sunk their teeth into my canoe. I was so lucky that they brought me back to the water and placed me down. I was free. I had made it to Hudson Bay. My journey was complete.
