I am on my journey to Hudson Bay I hope I reach Hudson Bay in one piece. I have been waiting for this day for so long to finally be able to test my speed in the water and to see how the water feels. This day is the best day. My owner finally carefully threw me in the water and I felt the coldness of the water touching my boat. Then this river otter came running towards my boat.
The river otter spinned around me in the water so fast that a little river tornado was mad. I think the river otter thinks that I am the prey and I don't wanna get eaten so I try to push myself out of the moving water. Then when I pushed myself out of the water I heard some noise and then I noticed the sign said Welcome To Arka. The Willow tree made me get stuck in its branch and I couldn't move and I was trying so hard to move until this bobcat came around. I heard its hissing and it was trying to bite me. When he was biting me released me from the willow tree branch.
When I was sleeping I reached the Cavalier I got awakened by the noise. It was people fishing on big boats and I really didn't wanna get caught so I tried to move around these big boats. My little boat couldn't keep up with these big waves. I got caught by the fisherman's net but then he read my note on my canoe and it said Please put me back in the water so I can complete my journey to Hudson Bay. If anyone finds me please contact this number. So he contacted that number and threw me back in the water.
I went off course for a little bit but then I figured out it was a shortcut to reach Pembina. This animal I think it's a raccoon but then it noticed me. I think it thought of me as a threat. It sprayed its poison on me and it was sticking to everything I hit so now it was even harder to reach the Pembina River. When I came up to these vines I knew I was gonna get stuck. When I got up to them I thought of moving around them but no I already touched the vines then I got all tangled up.
Couple hours later I was still stuck. I knew if i didn't get stuck i would have reached the Pembina River but luckily I think luck is by my side. A pack of wolves came up to me starting to bite the vines and it let me free. I could feel the cold and slightly warm water against my boat and now I am on the move again to reach the Pembina River.
I got to the Pembina River. There were alot of dams and a lot of vines in the water and then I saw this wolf come out of nowhere and pick me up. I wished I could scream and put me down But I couldn't the wolf threw me in the water which I was thankful for. Maybe he heard me say put me down. After a while I started seeing a lot of aspen trees and especially raccoons. I thought to myself I don't want to get sprayed again so I minded my own business and didnt worry about the raccoons. I started to see more wolves than usual but it was fine I thought. Until one jumped out i though for sure i was gonna go on land but then i got taken out of the water but it was a fisherman i thought i was in the hold of a wolf but i wasn't he read my note my owner put on me and i am very glad she did or else i would of of got taken.
Finally I got out of the Pembina River and made it to the Red River and the city of Emerson and there were a lot of box elder trees. I think over 100 what do i know i can't even count. On those box elder trees there were a lot of ground squirrels and fox squirrels and the fox squirrels are really bigger than me.I really didnt wanna mess with someone that's not my size. There were a lot of eagles flying around probably because there was a ground squirrel because eagles like to eat ground squirrels. I dont want to get picked up by one of those eagles. They have sharp beaks that peck at you. I was moving along minding my own business when a fox squirrel came out of nowhere. It started throwing acorns at me and they were hard acorns and it was damaging my wood I got mad at the fox squirrel and he was mad too. I think it thought I was its prey and he tried jumping in the water but he wasnt a good swimmer not at all. Then I just didn't care about him throwing them at me I just went along my way.
I got to Lake Winnipeg after some of the eagles pecking at me. I noticed there was no city so it got very quiet but there were lots of trees. The most common are ironwood trees that the weasels were by. There were very few but there were green ash trees that the minks took over but no animals were in the water or bothering me so it was very calming. I started to fall asleep because it is night time. I normally dont sleep at night because I don't want to get picked up or blown off course. Then I just stared at this one mink that was staring at me for maybe hours. It was very disturbing but I dealt with it. Then the whole pack of weasels started biting at the wood of the canoe and I was starting to get worried I could sink and not make this journey. These little weasels started making waves since they were moving so much Then I started to move out of their hold and I was free.
Then I was at Nelson River almost at the end of my journey. I was so happy to be almost over with all the animals but then there was this person a child and her mother took me out of the water. They looked at the note and she told the little girl that she couldnt have it. She was sad and I knew she did the right thing to throw me in the water. After a little while I saw a person cooking songbird which I thought was very weird it smelled amazing but I knew it was hard to keep going. It turned night and I could hear the eastern screech owls sitting on the quaking aspen. There were a lot of bittersweets and even more song birds I think that the guy would have killed . Hopefully those birds are safe. After a little bit I started hearing a lot of screech owls and their heads look at me both ways everywhere I go . It was very creepy and disturbing.
I am almost to Hudson Bay. I can see this guy cooking a walleye which was very weird but i know walleyes taste very good. That's what a lot of people say that I heard and I know I am close since there are walleyes and Arctic animals like beluga whales and walleyes. I see a lot of animals eating bearberries and I can see some caribou trying to eat cottongrass. Since there are many people in the distance ice fishing I was very terrified for those fishes. Most of the fishes are walleyes. I knew I was very close because I saw beluga whales and they were blowing water out of their heads. It was very cool but i knew in the next couple minutes i will be in Hudson Bay and i will have completed my journey.
Finally I reached Hudson Bay and a beluga whale blew me up into the air with the water and I knew I completed my journey and I can't wait for where Hudson Bay takes me next
