Hi my name is Josafina. This is my story on how I made it to the Atlantic Ocean in a canoe and how I traveled past animals plants lakes rivers towns and people. This is where it all started. So one day I was getting thrown into the Tongue River in this little town called Akra by a girl who created me in her classroom and she colored me and brought me here. So I was just minding my own business. Humming and singing with a songbird also looking at the green ash bush along the way. All of the sudden a huge catfish comes and starts to bite the wood on my canoe and splashes water all over me. I was furious The catfish would not stop biting the wood on my canoe so I picked a chokecherry off the tree and threw it. The catfish went to eat it as I went as fast as it could in the river so far that the catfish couldnt see me. Before I knew it I was in Cavalier I knew I was in Cavalier because I heard people cars and babies crying. As I was floating along in Cavalier it started to get darker and I started to fall asleep. The next morning I woke up in the Pembina River box elder trees everywhere. As I was going through Pembina looking around and doing tricks on the water a huge bald eagle came and took me with its claws in the air. I was screaming help the bald eagle was looking for more prey and certainly I was not tasty prey. The bald eagle saw a paddle fish in the water and dropped me. I was hoping my journey wasnt ending right now. I fell in an American elm tree and I rolled through the branches into the river. I just kept going on my journey after that scary moment. Now as I was rolling along on my journey I made it to the Red River. It was beautiful there in the city of Emerson. There were lots of bur oak trees. They were huge I also saw a very scary northern pike. I swerved away from it so I didnt get in the same situation as I did with the catfish. As I was just moving along I saw a screech owl in a tall but sort of skinny aspen tree. That was the most peaceful place of my journey. Then I made it to Lake Winnipeg. There was so much cotton falling off cottonwood trees. Also there was a really weird fish. I think it was a sunfish though. As I was moving along really fast a mink was on land. I think the mink thought I was racing it and I was going really fast not looking where I was going. Then I ran into a huge woodbine tree that was on the side of the lake. The tree also scratched my canoe and I was really mad As the sun was setting I was rolling along right into the Nelson River. Then I was in a situation A quaking aspen fell over and blocked my way of getting across the river but then a really scary animal was hiding behind an ironwood tree stump. It looked like a bank robber but really small. I think it was a raccoon I also saw a rainbow trout swimming by me while I was stuck trying to figure a way to get past the tree. All of the sudden I heard a huge.. BANG The tree snapped in half It was a miracle Then I went past the tree and continued on my journey. Im so close to my destination I am just getting to Hudson Bay now. It is beautiful there but it was very chilly. I saw a beautiful yellow Arctic poppy. It was there all by itself. I felt so bad. It was lonely but there was cotton grass everywhere surrounding it. So it couldnt have been lonely. I was looking across at the cottongrass from the side of Hudson Bay and a small snow owl flew out of the cotton grass. It blended in really well. Then a really big walrus came by me but surprisingly didnt do anything to me I have finally made it to my destination When I first made it there a seal spotted me. The seal thought I was a toy and started flipping me around on its nose. I got really dizzy It felt like I was getting sick. I also saw an Arctic willow but it wasnt as pretty as the purple saxifrage I saw. It was marvelous. I also saw a polar bear with its cubs. I made sure I didnt get near them. That was my story on how I made it to the Atlantic Ocean on my long crazy journey
