My canoe's name is Turtley. I have many hopes and dreams for Turtley once I launch it. I hope it will someday reach Hudson Bay. When I launch Turtley from FargoMoorhead I hope it will enjoy the best ride on a hot and sunny day in May of 2024. On the journey north through the Red River I hope it meets a friendly catfish named Mello. Later on through the Red River I hope it sees a white tailed deer named Daisy galloping on the side of the Red River. Right before my canoe gets to Trail county I hope it will see a bald eagle named Fred soaring through the sky looking for some food. A couple weeks later I hope it sees a field of corn as tall as the person who launched me. Right before it reaches Grand Forks I hope it sees a kind otter named Lily swimming by. A couple days later after it reaches Grand Forks I hope it sees a field of hundreds of sugar beets. A week later I hope it reaches Walsh county and sees a forest of oak trees. Next I hope it meets a western painted turtle named Ripples and makes friends with him and I hope the turtle goes on the journey with Turtley. While Turtley and ripples make their way down the red river past Pembina I hope it crosses the border to Canada. A month later a day after it crosses Emerson I hope they will see a lynx swimming in the Red River right next to them. Eventually I hope it will come across a forest of green ash trees. Next I hope they will see a sturgeon named Hal eating a walleye right before they get to Lake Winnipeg. Three weeks later I hope it sees a moose drinking some water from the Red River. After about two hours I hope I see a duck named quakers and a halibut named Lance making friends. A week before they reach Hudson Bay I hope they will make friends with a dolphin named Winter and they will all go swimming together until they reach Hudson Bay.
