My canoes name is Ocane. I have many hopes and dreams for my canoe once I launch it. I hope it will someday reach MonSaintMichel by way of Hudson Bay. When I launch Ocane into the Red River from Fargo in May of 2024 I hope it will enjoy all the beautiful sights God has given us. Along the way I hope a canal catfish comes up to it and nibbles on it. Then after it passes Walsh county I hope it looks underneath itself to find a school of young bullheads. One week later as it's almost to the border I want it to see a mink with fluffy caramel fur. Right after it passes the border I would love it if it saw a sturgeon leap out of the water and make a splash Three weeks after it passes Emerson I hope it sees a garter snake peeking out from the tall grass sunbathing. Next I hope that a fisherman's red lab jumps into the river to grab my canoe and then carry it onto the muddy riverbank. After getting stuck in the river bank for several weeks I hope a moose goes up to it and nudges it just right with its hoof until it becomes unstuck and follows the current all the way to the Hudson Bay. Finally it will flow steadily through Hudson bay for about a year twirling around the little islands and just chilling. After it Finally exits the Hudson bay it will spend years and years at sea until it reaches its final destination MonSaintMichel.
