My canoeՉs name is The Blueberry. I have many hopes and dreams for my canoe once I launch it. I hope that it will end up in Hudson Bay. When I launch The Blueberry in Fargo at Oak Grove,on a sunny day in May, I hope my canoe will have safe travels as it goes along the Red River and passes through to the Hudson bay in Canada.
The Blueberry will start by Fargo-Moorhead and see oak trees along the muddy banks. My canoe will smell many sugar beets when it is by north Moorhead at M.B. Johnson Park. After 4 weeks, The Blueberry will be in Norman, County-Minnesota. She will see many cottonwood trees by the river. The cotton on the branches will be in the river and will stick on her. After 1 week, she will see a baby white tailed deer trying to swim its way to its mama on the muddy banks of the river. The Blueberry will try and get there to help the deer to grab on to something. The Blueberry will get there on time and save the baby deerՉs life. Then after having some peace and quiet, The Blueberry will see a northern pike come and splash its way towards her. She is happy to have a companion along her journey, but the northern pike will have to go to another confluence. Then after 3 months, she has finally made it to Grand Forks, North Dakota, where she sees a catfish and tries to keep up. But canՉt because she got stuck in some beaver logs. Then the catfish comes back and rescues The Blueberry. After 2 weeks, The Blueberry has gotten to North DakotaՉs Walsh County. She is very lonely with no one by her. Next time, The Blueberry will meet a bald eagle. The bald eagle picks The Blueberry up and starts chewing on the wood, because the eagle thinks she is food. The bald eagle will carry The Blueberry over the U.S. and Canadian border. After 2 weeks, the bald eagle will see a walleye and will try and grab it. The eagle will go down by the water and drop The Blueberry and grab a walleye. The Blueberry will be happy in the water again. After 3 weeks, The Blueberry will reach Winnipeg, Canada. The Blueberry will meet a red fox along the gray muddy banks. She will continue her journey with the red fox. Then after 2 weeks she will get to Lake Winnipeg and she will be glad she is almost to Hudson Bay. After 5 months, The Blueberry will get to Nelson River and she will see swans once she gets there. Then, The Blueberry will finally get to Hudson Bay. Narwhals and belugas will swim next to her. She will see dolphins doing tricks not too far from her. A walrus will swim right under her and she will know she is in the right place. Her journey will take her 10 months and 1 week.
