Canoe 22RD1684

22RD1684
My canoe started its journey at the Clearwater Dam. When Dooly started, he was going really fast. All of a sudden a beaver snatched him. When heՉ€™d been there for two minutes, a kid saved him. Apparently it was the kid who decorated him. Finally, after eight long hours, he made it to the Red Lake River. He saw Red Lake Falls. It was kind of big . But the kids said I would make it to the ocean and that sounds even bigger. He goes through East Grand Forks and it sounds super duper big. So Dooly had made it to Red Lake Falls in eight hours. The next day he made it to the Red River. He was tired from staying up all night. Finally he made it to Lake Winnipeg. It took 132 and a half days to get there. He got stuck in East Grand Forks. People picked him up and set him in the water. It was crazy! So Dooly was one mile into Lake Winnipeg, but the next morning a big bass flipped him over. When he got tipped back over he was at the Nelson River! It was kind of a long, lonely, exciting journey! Next stop, Hudson Bay! After a cold long winter of being frozen in the ice he made it to Hudson Bay! He got to see the York factory. So Dooly made it to Hudson Bay after 1,095 days. He faced things from rocks to fishing hooks. He got stuck on rocks and branches. When he first got launched he got taken by a beaver. He saw walruses. And last stop, the Atlantic Ocean. He finished his journey with a friend. They ran into each other at York Factory. Dooly was the first out of all the canoes to make the long slow lonely painful journey. It took 2,000 days to finish! Dooly was found along the Atlantic coast 25 years later by a little boy named Loren Vettleson!

View Jul 13, 2023 Joe Flynn Found halfway on shore in debris. I was able to spot it due to the bright colors and design; otherwise it would have been there for a very long time! I carried it by kayak to the bridge at 249th Street where we will release it back into the river. This is the 4th canoe our family has found this week. Good luck on your journey!
