Canoe 18RD0075

18RD0075
It all started in Grand Forks, North Dakota. I traveled up the Red River and I saw a moose eating some plants. Next I almost became a part of a beavers dam but the beaver hears a gun noise so it drops me and runs away. Then the hunter that shot the gun found me and reads what I want him to do and placed me back in the Red River. Oh and by the way the hunters name was Andy. After Andy sets me in back in the Red River I see some fish in the clear water. The weather is really cold and the sky is cloudy. Later on I pass a mother bear and its cubs in a cave hiding from the blizzard. Then IՉ€™m past the Canadian border. After that a kid tries to chew me but his father said,Չ€ That isnՉ€™t food and we donՉ€™t know wear itՉ€™s been.Չ€ So the kid throws me back in the Red River. Then I finally get to Lake Winnipeg. It was a bumpy ride. Then a boat full of cargo saw me picked me up and they said,Չ€Well it wouldnՉ€™t hurt to give this fella a ride to Hudson Bay.Չ€ So then I was on my way to Hudson Bay. When we got there they threw me off the boat. I was on my way when a walrus thought I was a fish, and it spit me out of its mouth. Now I am still floating in Hudson Bay.

View Nov 16, 2018 Dan and Sheri Holter We found this canoe in late fall of 2018 on the river bank by our home. We decided to keep it over the winter since there was already ice forming on the Red River. Due to the flooding in the Oslo, MN area this spring, we have not been able to get close enough to the river bank safely to launch it yet. The river is still pretty high and there is quite a bit of mud on the banks. However, we do anticipate that we should be able to launch it in the next week or two. What a great project this is. It was fun to find a treasure on the banks of the Red River. I hope it goes far and receives the best of care!
